The Middle East Economic and Security Council (MEESC), envisioned by Kamal Al Mashhadani, represents a groundbreaking initiative to address the intertwined challenges of security and economic development in the Middle East. This dual-purpose organization would promote regional cooperation, offering a unified approach to ensuring peace and prosperity.

The Vision of MEESC

Kamal Al Mashhadani’s MEESC seeks to combine the functions of a security alliance, similar to NATO, and an economic union, inspired by the European Union, but tailored to the unique dynamics of the Middle East.

1. Security Objectives

• Conflict Resolution: Providing a platform for resolving regional disputes through diplomacy and dialogue.

• Counterterrorism: Coordinating efforts to combat terrorism and extremist ideologies across borders.

• Joint Defense: Developing collective defense strategies to protect member states from internal and external threats.

• Border Security: Enhancing collaboration on securing borders and managing migration flows effectively.

2. Economic Objectives

• Regional Integration: Promoting trade agreements and creating free trade zones to enhance economic interdependence.

• Infrastructure Development: Coordinating regional investments in key sectors such as energy, technology, and transportation.

• Job Creation: Implementing policies to generate employment and reduce poverty across the region.
